Ritual ("we", "our", "us") operates the Ritual mobile application. This policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your information.

1. Information We Collect

Account information: When you create an account we collect your phone number, display name, and optional username and profile photo.

Usage data: We collect information about how you use the app, including crews you join, plans you create or RSVP to, and messages you send.

Device information: We collect your push notification token to deliver notifications. We do not collect device identifiers for advertising.

Location: If you grant permission, we access your location to show nearby venues and your position on plan maps. We also use your approximate area (such as your city) to help resolve the venues and events you search for or type in.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To operate and maintain the app
• To send push notifications you have opted into
• To display your profile to other Ritual members
• To improve the app experience

3. Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. Your data is shared only with:

• Other crew members: Your display name, avatar, RSVPs, messages, and uploaded media are visible to members of your crews.
• Service providers: We use Supabase for data storage and authentication, and Expo for push notifications.
• Google Maps Platform: When you search for a place or add an event with a location, your search text and approximate location are sent to Google to find matching venues, addresses, and map coordinates.
• Anthropic: When you describe an event in your own words, the text you typed is sent to Anthropic (an AI service provider) along with your first name, timezone, and approximate area so we can automatically fill in event details like the name, venue, and date. This information is used only to process your request.

4. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from within the app.

5. Security

We use industry-standard measures including row-level security, encrypted connections, and secure authentication to protect your data.

6. Your Rights

You can update your profile information, adjust notification preferences, or request account deletion at any time.

7. Children

Ritual is intended for users 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

8. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the app.
